Ecologia embarks on an African adventure
Ecologia has successfully completed a geotechnical exploration in the Republic of Guinea in West Africa.
The geotechnical exploration was carried out using our demountable GeoEasy
crawler mounted rig equipped to perform CPT/CPTU techniques and operated
by one of our crews. On site operations commenced in June under the joint
supervision of Golder and Scott Wilson and took approximately 6 weeks. The
work is part of a large infrastructure project commissioned by Rio Tinto in
relation to the development of the Simandou-Iron ore.
Hot coverage of Ecologia by the BBC South East
The development of the novel RF in situ soil heating was featured again on the BBC South East news. The technology is proving that moderate soil heating of typically difficult soils such as unsaturated chalk can produce a ten fold increase in the recovery of volatile and semi-volatiles organic contaminants. This will result in a substantial reduction of contaminants in the soil over a short period of time ensuring that soil can be reused rather than landfilled.
