Innovative energy-saving presence detectors to launch at NEMEX
NEMEX 2011 is set to be the launch pad for two major product releases from the market leader in lighting sensor technology, Steinel (UK) Ltd. The new Control PRO range of presence detectors and ProLog lighting and occupancy measurement device will be available to view on Stand U11.
Both game-changers in the arena of energy management and demand reduction, Control PRO and PROLog are set to provide new clarity and efficiency in lighting controls.
Due to its innovative square-shaped detection characteristics, Control PRO makes it possible to cover 'regular' areas such as small offices and meeting rooms, as well as large, unusually-shaped areas that may contain 'obstructions' such as open plan offices, large conference rooms and restrooms.
Control PRO presence detectors are available in all the most commonly demanded combinations (switching output, HVA output, 1-10V dimming output, KNX/EIB, DALI).
Featuring additional functions and setting capabilities, they can be used in master/slave applications and benefit from a self-learning IQ mode which intelligently adjusts the delay off period in line with the real time occupancy rate, thereby maximising energy efficiency.
They can also be operated by IR remote control. The system is ideal for both new projects and existing buildings as retrofitting to existing lighting is very simple and incurs minimum installation costs.
All Steinel sensors - including ControlPro - can be found in the Relux Design Package. This enables users to plan sensors into applications safe in the knowledge that all areas are covered, whilst using the minimum number of sensors.
Only lighting spaces when people are detected in the room opens up the possibility for huge energy savings that can dramatically reduce an organisation's financial outlay on electricity and cut its carbon footprint. However, Steinel recognises that organisations are not content to merely guesstimate these savings when assessing the payback period on presence detectors, which is why it is also launching PROLog at NEMEX.
PROLog is a measuring instrument that is positioned easily and unobtrusively below the ceiling at various points within a building. It records in minute detail the actual usage of lighting over a month-long period - including, notably, instances where lighting is left on unnecessarily.
The PROLog software then configures the data to provide a highly-accurate projection of the total energy savings that will be accrued over one, three or ten years, if presence detectors are installed. This takes the guess work out of sensor controlled lighting energy savings.
Visitors to the Steinel stand at NEMEX, which takes place from 24-26 May 2011, will also be able to view its existing, highly-successful third-generation range of RS Pro Sensor presence detectors.
Peter Lawrence, General Manager, Steinel (UK) Ltd, comments: "By launching Control PRO and PROLog at NEMEX in Birmingham, where we will be exhibiting on stand U11, we are keen to give visitors the very first opportunity to view and discuss this cutting-edge lighting sensor technology."
Mr Lawrence adds: "The development of Control PRO and PROLog followed a comprehensive review of the demands made on sensor technology today, by listening attentively to users, planners, architects, consultants and electrical contractors. We believe NEMEX is the ideal platform on which to launch these very significant products.
Experts from Steinel will be on the stand throughout the exhibition to provide advice and guidance on ways in which sensor technology can unlock energy savings in lighting.
