Broquet are the manufacture of fuel treatment products for reducing carbon footprint by reducing fuel consumption and exhaust emissions for all petrol,diesel, LPG engines, and oil-fired boilers and burners. Applications include motor mowers, motorcycles, cars, vans, trucks, buses, boats, tractors, compressors, construction plant,generators and boilers. Fuel saving is in the range 7%-12%, and HC and CO emissions are reduced typically by 20%. Degradation of stored fuel is also significantly reduced. One treatment of Broquet will last for 250,000 miles and therefore is generally a once-only fitment and is maintenance-free, with a payback time of approximately 4 months.

SMART taps fuel catalysts for carbon emission reduction
Smart Communications, Inc. (SMART) is set to reduce the carbon emission of its generator sets in some 600 cell sites in remote locations nationwide with the use of fuel treatment units. At the same time, the leading wireless services provider is reducing diesel consumption per generator set by 18 to 20 percent, resulting in fuel cost savings.
"We are pleased to be able to make a modest contribution to the reduction of global warming and at the same time, benefit in terms of reduced operations expenses, " said Ramoncito S. Fernandez, head of SMART's Administration and Materials Management Group.
The decision to use fuel catalysts for all genset-powered cell sites came after Smart contracted Broquet International Ltd. to fit fuel catalysts on majority of its generator sets.
Operating 23 hours a day, each of SMART's generator sets consumes an average of 2,000 liters of diesel fuel a month. With the fuel catalysts installed, fuel consumption per generator set went down to an average of 1,540 per month, resulting to savings of 460 liters of diesel fuel per unit.
One liter of diesel fuel has 0.67 Kg of carbon and will produce 2.45 Kg of carbon dioxide. Since fuel consumption was reduced by a total of 910,800 liters of diesel fuel for 495 generator sets over four months, SMART reduced carbon emission by 2,231,460 Kg of carbon or 2,231 tons.
"Given the reduction in carbon emission as well as the generation of fuel cost savings, there are now plans to complete the installation of fuel treatment units in generator sets this year," said Rolando G. Pena, head of SMART's Network Services Division.
Fuel catalysts are pre-combustion fuel treatment devices that improve fuel efficiency during combustion, reduce carbon emission and fuel consumption and increase engine performance and power.
SMART has full coverage in all cities and 99 percent coverage in municipalities, some of which are in very remote areas with non-existent or alternate sources of power supply. With a GSM network of over 6,000 GSM cell sites, SMART covers the remotest corners of the archipelago from Itbayat, Batanes in the north, Caraga, Davao Oriental in the east, Kalayaan Island in the west and Sitangkai Island, in Tawi-tawi in the south.
