KEE HAVE LAUNCHED THEIR REDESIGNED SECTIONAL HOPPER GRP FINAL CLARIFIERS - Current health and safety legislation for building and construction sites are such, that working in a confined space or in an excavation or at elevated height, can cause problems with respect to the H&S requirements.
KEE pioneered the use of GRP in wastewater treatment in the 1960s and have supplied many hopper bottom final clarifiers of large diameters which necessitate assembly on site. To ensure that all the joints are water tight and do not need a substantial amount of fixings, KEE have developed a gluing procedure for assembling the tanks. This enables the tank to be assembled in relatively short periods so the need to laminate joints on sites, or to spend long hours bolting together the flanges, is no longer necessary.
One downside of the bolted construction has always been the potential for the joint to leak with the gasket material not performing. This potential risk has been eliminated by KEE introducing their innovative gluing technology and design which gives a much better strength to the joint and also retains the stiffness of the flange much more than with bolted construction.
The new tank includes launders with sloping floor to ensure complete drainage of launder. The weir plates on the launders remain adjustable to enable site fine tuning and the whole tank can be assembled and erected in half the time it would normally take for a bolted construction.
