Air1 to expand AdBlue business in the South of England.
A new bulk import and storage facility at Dagenham is at the heart of Air1's plan to increase AdBlue sales.
The 2.5 million litre storage facility, at TDG's Choats Road terminal, will come into operation during April. It will enable Air1 to be shipped directly from Yara's Sluiskil production plant in the Netherlands for delivery to customers in the South of England. Currently all product for the UK mainland is delivered via Yara's 5 million litre tank at Immingham.
To coincide with this development, Brenntag UK, Yara's partner in the Air1 business, will establish an IBC packing operation for Air1 at its Greenwich site and bring 2 additional dedicated tankers into service to increase bulk delivery capacity.
"We chose Dagenham for our second terminal because of its location in the South East and based on Yara's positive experience of working with TDG for many years", says Stephen Caldwell of Yara. "The fact that it is also close to Greenwich is a good example of how our partnership with Brenntag works to everyone's advantage."
In response to the growing AdBlue market Brenntag recently appointed Andy Williams as Air1 account manager covering the South of England. Air1 can also be purchased from a network of Official Distributors for delivery to customers' home depots, or "on the road" from truckstops and large retail filling stations. During April and May South Eastern Tanker Services (SETS) will have Air1 available at a special promotional price from the pump at its Breach Lane site, off the A13 at Dagenham. Customers wanting home delivery can contact local distributor Fuel Oils Ltd. of Erith for a competitive offer.
"Having product available at Dagenham as well as Immingham will significantly increase the efficiency of our supply chain, allowing us to improve our customer service and reducing our environmental impact," says David O'Connell, Managing Director of Brenntag UK. "It is clear that uninterrupted availability and security of supply are critical to AdBlue users."
