Wolverhampton South West MP hails "bright future" for leading environmental consultancy, ADAS

In a visit to the head office of leading environmental consultancy, ADAS, on Monday 20 September 2010, Conservative MP for Wolverhampton South West, Paul Uppal, declared ADAS had a "bright future".

Meeting Colin Speller, Managing Director of the ADAS Group, the new Group Finance Director, Michael Clarke and many of the staff who work at the head office, Paul Uppal MP was briefed about the issues that currently face ADAS, some of its latest projects and a history of the organisation and its vision for the future.

ADAS is headquartered in Mr Uppal's constituency at Woodthorne, Wergs Road, Wolverhampton, WV6 8TQ. It has over 700 staff covering more than 60 specialisms, operating from a network of offices and research sites in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland

Paul Uppal MP said:
"It was a real treat for me to visit ADAS today. Apart from being an important local employer - ADAS employs 50 people at Wergs Road, alone - they are also doing leading edge research into what are the key issues currently facing the whole of humankind: food security and climate change among them. I was impressed by their depth and breadth of knowledge and projects: They really cover the whole supply chain from farm gate to plate. Their client list is second to none and includes household names such as Marks & Spencer; EDF and Network Rail to name but a few. I was impressed by their 'can do' attitude. They get that we have to protect the environment and feed the world. Not many organisations can help square this circle. ADAS can."

Colin Speller, ADAS Group MD added:
"We were delighted to welcome Paul Uppal MP as the MP that represents the constituency in which our head office sits today. We had a very good meeting and tour of the offices. I hope we were able to give him some insight into the work we do and our future aims and aspirations. It is great to have a link to our constituency voice in Parliament. We wish Paul well in this forthcoming Parliamentary session."
