CMTC is an environmental business support organisation. It is located within the School of Chemical Environmental and Mining Engineering, (SChEME), of the University of Nottingham. CMTC manages a unique resource, the Environmental Technology Centre (ETC). This has been developed as a resource for teaching, research and business support. The centre is managed by CMTC and is an integral part of its Environmental Support for SMEs, (Small and Medium Sized Enterprises) project. CMTC is partially funded by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund, (ERDF) and provides free and subsidised help to SMEs based in the East Midlands Objective 2 area to improve their environmental performance.
Companies can benefit from the facilities in the Environmental Technology Centre. Trials performed in the ETC can be used as the basis for the provision of guidance to businesses as to which direction to go when taking that all important step towards energy efficiency made more important today since the implementation of the Climate Change Levy.
