Award Winning Advanced-Aeration
Bio-Bubble Advanced-Aeration received a further accolade during December 2007 when it was especially recognised and voted "Highly Commended" at the "National Energy Efficiency Awards 2007" for Energy Efficient Products, which was sponsored by the UK Centre for Economic and Environmental Development (UK CEED), EDF Energy, The Independent, and others.
Previous to this, Advanced-Aeration won the "Environmental Innovation and Technology" award at the "Sustainable Business Awards for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight 2007"
Other tributes include;
a) An Environmental Commendation Award for Exemplary Design and Environmental Standards awarded to the National Trust for waste water treatment facilities at Kynance Cove in Cornwall. This is a Designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Special Area of Conservation. The system was sympathetically designed to blend unseen into a sensitive natural landscape with living turf roof and surrounding Cornish hedges. Effluent is treated to ensure high quality allowing discharge to a popular beach area without causing risk to health. Moreover, it uses technologies harnessing renewable energy, and because the process is Advanced-Aeration, this is further enhanced with sludge waste being on average 90% less in volume than any other system imparting a further exceptional reduction to energy usage and carbon footprint.
b) The Government Construction Clients Group Awards, where Advanced-Aeration was voted as winner at the Construction & Excellence Awards 2005 in Belfast. The exceptional qualities of the process at Portglenone WwTW for Northern Ireland Water were highly praised.
The 2007 awards were in recognition of systems installed for Anglian Water, who have a number of Advanced Aeration systems, some located in sensitive basin areas. With their assistance, Advanced-Aeration was successfully demonstrated to dramatically improve energy efficiencies of wastewater treatment. The following results reveal the average energy savings in comparison to other contemporary systems:

In summary, the project was evaluated from nine plants that had been operating for 18 months or over. The selected plants varied in size from small to medium works, ranging from a system serving a small hamlet of 75 persons, to a plant serving up to 15,000 PE.

Modular and versatile, Advanced Aeration can be applied to small or extensively large applications and the same reductions in proportion are attainable. Higher percentage reductions have been successfully achieved at numerous small domestic applications.
