What IEMA membership changes mean for your training programme
IEMA, the preeminent standard for sustainability training, recently announced changes to the structure of its membership levels and related accredited programmes in 2017.
EEF, as a leading provider of IEMA training for all industries across the UK, has outlined the changes in the diagram above (also available for download).
Clearly, several of the training requirements for achieving a particular membership level have become more time consuming (and presumably more expensive) to achieve. Therefore, HSCE professionals considering or in the process of training for a particular IEMA membership level are encouraged to complete this training before the end of 2016.
For example, if you choose to study for the IEMA Associate Certificate this year and qualify for AIEMA before the changes go into effect in 2017, you will be transferred automatically to the new IEMA Practitioner level membership, PIEMA, as part of the new membership structure.
Training managers responsible for ensuring proper training for their staff involved with sustainability should get in touch with an IEMA training expert to discuss how to effectively transition to the new requirements.
