History As You've Never Seen It Before At Stand C54 - Europe's Largest Archive of Digital Historic Maps Available From Landmark
Landmark Information Group will be firmly putting themselves on the map at this year's ET 2005 with the news that nearly 450,000 Ordnance Survey maps have been added to its existing database of historic maps, making the new collection the largest archive of its kind in Europe.
Demonstrations of the new historic map package, which include the Ordnance Survey's previously unpublished SUSI datasets, Survey of Information on Microfilm (SIM) data as well as Large-Scale National Grid Data, will be available on the Landmark Information Group stand (C54) throughout the three day exhibition.
Landmark's digital map archive now totals one million map tiles, providing environmental and engineering consultants with a comprehensive and accurate picture of land use changes from the 1840s to the present day.
Jim Carlisle, Principle Consultant at RPS believes that "along with the impressive speed of delivery, this addition to the historical map database will enable a greater understanding of former site uses, layouts and changes over time and provide an even higher level of detail and confidence in our contaminated land desk studies."
Steve Johnson, Ordnance Survey Partner Account Manager comments: "Landmark is an innovative and valued Ordnance Survey commercial Partner. The continued expansion of its historic map archive reflects Landmark's commitment to innovative solutions for customers and its creative use of Ordnance Survey data."
Landmark, in association with Getmapping, will also be giving away a free aerial photograph for every visitor to the stand.
