About

Sensors & systems for freshwater and oceanographic monitoring Chelsea Technologies Group manufactures a range of innovative multi-parameter sensors & systems for monitoring the physical, optical & biological oceanographic & fresh water environments. Sensors are available for in-situ chlorophyll & algae class studies, dye tracing, oil spill monitoring, airport apron pollution runoff studies, water abstraction management and effluent detection as well as primary productivity studies, bloom detection, toxicant detection within domestic water supplies and early detection of contamination events in potable and pre-treated water protection. With nearly 50 years' experience in sensors and systems design, Chelsea's products are used in a diverse range of applications in the marine, environmental, defence, homeland security, industrial process control and life science markets. Chelsea demonstrates next generation of coastal and oceanographic monitoring sensors at Ocean Business

Justin Dunning will be demonstrating Chelsea's range of miniature, multi-wavelength Lux fluorimeters on board RV Callista during Ocean Business.

"Since their launch last year, over 150 Lux fluorimeters are in use, having been snapped up by researchers in both the oceanographic and freshwater communities", said Justin Dunning, Sales Manager.

These fluorimeters can be configured to measure a wide range of oceanographic parameters including chlorophyll-a, turbidity, dissolved organic matter and tryptophan. However, the most popular application to date has been dye tracing and oil in water monitoring.

The Lux range of fluorimeters has recently been augmented with a range of accessories which allow these small fluorimeters to used in almost any deployment scenario.

The Chelsea team will also be demonstrating the amazingly versatile Fast Repetition Rate Fluorimeters system. Applications for this system now include primary productivity measurements, coastal monitoring, iron fertilization experiments, algal bloom monitoring and the protection of water supplies against accidental or deliberate contamination.

In addition, development of our new FASTact system greatly simplifies the automation of laboratory-based experiments including the running of fully automated light curves.

To book your place on one of these in-water demonstrations or arrange a meeting on Stand No: T8, please contact Ellen Keegan.
