Portable CEMs meets new WID guidance
The Waste Incineration Directive requires that processes are shut down if emissions monitoring fails for more than four hours.
New guidance from the Environment Agency states that portable monitoring systems, providing they meet the same quality standards as the installed CEMs, can be used for Alternative Monitoring to allow the process to continue. The Temet Dx-4000 FTIR from Quantitech is a fully portable MCERTS approved CEMs, and with its Portable Sampling System and TuV approved Oxygen Sensor can be configured to run continuously, unattended, and be generating quality data for all the required gases within one hour of power-up. A Dx-4000 portable CEMs can cover multiple sites and be pre-programmed with applications data for each site, minimising commissioning time. Meeting all the requirements of EN14181, the Dx-4000 can also provide the parallel measurements necessary for QAL2 or AST. The system can be configured to transfer results to existing data acquisition and reporting software, providing a seamless replacement for the installed CEMs, including FID-based monitors. Temet portable and installed CEMs are distributed in the UK by Quantitech Ltd of Milton Keynes, who can also supply rental systems through their EnviroRental service.
