Ultraportable and ultra-here: the LGR Greenhouse Gas Analyser

High performance portable analysers aimed at anyone wanting to measure CO2 and methane in the field are proving popular with existing and new customers at Enviro Technology Services.

The ground-breaking ultraportable greenhouse gas analyser from Los Gatos Research (LGR) measures methane, carbon dioxide and water vapour simultaneously in a package that is compact and crushproof. But don't let the simple, field-portable design hide the fact that this is a highly accurate instrument using 4th generation cavity ringdown spectroscopy for unsurpassed measurement performance.

LGR designs some of the world's highest performing instruments for leading-edge research using laser-based measurement. Weighing 15kg, the greenhouse gas analyser is small enough to be classed as hand luggage on flights and power consumption is minimal (60 watts) which means the instrument can be powered from an external 12VDC battery in the field, or from a vehicle cigarette lighter socket for measurement on the go. Being laser based, it is fast and precise too with data collection possible just 100 seconds after power-up.

ET's Sales and Marketing Director, Duncan Mounsor said:
"As with all LGR instruments, this analyser is easy to use, which makes it ideal for a range of applications from atmospheric and biological/ecological field studies through to checking for natural gas leaks. With built-in WiFi the analyser can paired with a laptop, tablet or smartphone and data can even be combined with Google Earth to generate real time detailed maps of greenhouse gases anywhere in the world."

ET has always specialised in bringing to market innovative solutions for air quality monitoring. The LGR ultraportable analyser is just one example of the cutting-edge technology the company offers for scientific and research applications along with ultrafine particulate counters and isotopic CO2, N2O and H2O analysers.

Duncan concludes: "While the additions of instruments such as the LGR analysers demonstrate how we are constantly evolving our product range, ET's founding principle of offering the very best in available monitoring technology has stayed true."
