ET scores certification hat-trick
Enviro Technology Services, the Stroud-based global supplier of environmental monitoring equipment has announced its accreditation "hat-trick" with ISO certification for its quality management, environmental and health and safety management systems - ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and BS OHAS 18001:2007 respectively.
ET was one of the first environmental instrumentation companies to achieve the ISO certification for quality in 1995. Following extensive audits throughout 2012 and into this year, the company has also been endorsed by the British Standards Institution (BSI) for its environmental and health and safety management systems.
The company sells, leases and services systems that monitor both ambient air quality and industrial air emissions. Led by Joint MDs, Mike Webley and Duncan Mounsor, ET decided to complete the trio of ISO certification in 2013 - the firm's 30th year of business:
"We've run ourselves under ISO principles for years. For example, as a long-standing company working directly in the environmental monitoring sector, we're in tune with sustainability and the environmental impacts from our core activities. However, the accreditation process has certainly made us a look afresh at our systems," says Duncan.
"This is an unbelievable achievement for everyone at ET. Gaining one ISO certification would be a major challenge for any organisation, but to have gained two simultaneously is amazing. These awards are recognition that the management systems we have built within ET, and the processes through which we care for our customers are to the very highest international standards," adds Mike.
ET was established in Gloucestershire in 1983 with one service engineer. The company now employs 50 people and has the UK's largest network of regionally-based engineers, servicing air monitoring equipment on some 500 sites in the UK and Ireland, as well as work on global installation projects. The firm is the principal service provider on the UK's largest air quality monitoring network, the AURN, which is used by the UK to report on its progress against various air quality directives. Customers range from local authorities and overseas governments to leading research institutes and blue chip industry.
"I think we're the only air quality monitoring company in the industry to have triple certification. We always said best practice was a minimum at ET and these certifications are proof of that," concludes Duncan.
