Carbon credits for flying around in a helicopter shooting camels?
Apparently, Australia has a bit of a large feral camel problem - and those grumpy humpsters also pump out a lot of methane - between 1-2 tonnes of CO2 equivalent a year, depending which report you read. Today has seen some great headlines, like: "Farting camels must die to save the world", as the world's press picks up on a story reported in The Australian - http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/breaking-news/kill-a-camel-claim-a-carbon-credit/story-fn3dxity-1226071986027

So here's the rub, the Australian government is actually assessing a proposal for issuing carbon credits for people who shoot them from helicopters or 4x4 vehicles - does anyone else see a little irony here?
I wonder when we'll see the first 'ecoturism' advert for helicopter camel-shooting safaris - if it becomes a CDM project I'm retiring!
