Specialising in membrane technologies, Hyflux Ltd is a leading provider of integrated environmental solutions offering a full suite of services from research & development, design & development, manufacturing of components, systems assembly, overall project management to plant and systems operations and maintenance. In 2008, Hyflux won the bid to build for the world's largest membrane-based seawater desalination plant in Algeria, with a project value of US$468 million and a capacity of 500MLD using Hyflux's own proprietary membrane technology, beating global players from the US, Japan and Spain. It is also building China's largest membrane-based seawater desalination plant, with a capacity of 150MLD. In 2005, Hyflux built and delivered what was then the world's largest membrane-based seawater desalination plant in Singapore, three months ahead of schedule, with a capacity of 136MLD. Today, it is operated and maintained by Hyflux, and continues to be the world's longest-running plant of its kind. Besides seawater desalination plants, Hyflux has been awarded over 30 wastewater recycling and water treatment projects both in Singapore and China. At the core of all its work lies Hyflux's membrane technology. Through in-house research and collaboration with reputable institutions worldwide, Hyflux leverages on its membrane technologies to develop a comprehensive range of filtration products and systems to provide environmentally-friendly solutions to a wide range of applications beyond the water sector. Successful applications abound in the pharmaceutical, oil recycling, food and beverage and other industries, through Hyflux's core technology and design teams, as well as its strong trust and partnership with its clients.
